Black Cats and Bats: Halloween Art at Highpointe on Michigan!
Halloween is right around the corner, and creativity is taking flight! Recently, our Buffalo Teaching Artist, Christina, helped our friends at Highpointe at Michigan celebrate the spooky season with a delightful Black Cats and Bats art project.
The group dove into collage and painting, layering color, texture, and imagination to bring their scenes to life. Black cats with shining eyes and playful poses, perching on a tree branch, and swooping bats silhouetted against moonlit skies. The room buzzed with laughter and conversation as everyone experimented with shapes and shades of midnight blue, pumpkin orange, and ghostly gray.
What’s most magical about projects like this isn’t just the finished artwork—it’s the shared joy of creating together. Each brushstroke brings comfort, connection, and a little seasonal sparkle to the day. These Black Cats and Bats remind us that art can turn even the spookiest season into one filled with warmth, friendship, and fun.
