More about Pablo Picasso

“Everything you can imagine is real.”

Born on 25 October 1881, in the city of Malaga, Spain, Pablo Picasso was destined to become the most influential artist of the twentieth century.

Known for his many periods of style, Picasso moved through his Blue Period, Rose Period, African Art Period, Analytic Cubism (which he created), Synthetic Cubism, Neoclassicism, and Surrealism throughout his career.

Many people know Picasso best for making the abstract faces that are reflected in this lesson. But he also painted realistically and Picasso sculpted, drew, and claimed to have invented collage.

Picasso made art until he died, in 1973. He was 91 years old.
