Georgia O’Keeffe Floral Portraits

More about Georgia O’Keeffe

“Filling a space in a beautiful way – that is what art means to me,” famously said by Georgia O’Keeffe.

Georgia O’Keeffe was the oldest of 9 children, born to an upper middle class family in Sun Praire, Wisconson. Georgia was artistic from a young age and unlike most families of the day, she was encouraged to pursue her talent and get

the education that would help her to reach her goals.

O’Keeffe often lamented that men told her she was one of the best women artists, when she believed herself to be one of the best artists (man or woman!).

Most famous for her large floral portraits, O’Keeffee painted and drew landscapes and she sculpted as well. O’keeffe worked well into her nineties.
